Through our R&D unit, we have exploited other potential uses of corn cob such as bioplastics manufacturing. Corn cob is an excellent vegetable alternative to mineral fillers and other synthetic materials.
For the main bio-sourced or synthetic thermoplastics: PLA, PE, PU, etc;
For processes: injection, extrusion, thermoforming, rotational moulding, etc.
Very hard
With a hardness equal to iron (4.5 on the Mohs scale), corn cob still has excellent flowability after mixing and does not stick to handling circuits.
Precise and controlled particle size
The different particle sizes of the Eu-Grits product range are precise and controlled in order to meet the requirements of the formulations.
A stable and durable product
The physico-chemical composition of the corn cob allows good matrix-filler adhesion, which improves the stability of the finished product. In addition, the products have a moisture content of less than 10%, which avoids the need for an additional drying step before use.
